“BVTM Express” Newsletter Vol. 15 – Notes for cargo shipping & stowage in sea freight

Sea transportation has some advantages that other modes of transportation do not have, such as the capacity to transport large quantities or bulky goods, cheap freight, less collisions due to open sea routes.

Along with the above advantages, this mode of transportation also has certain disadvantages, such as slow speed, vulnerability to weather impact when traveling through different climate conditions (sunlight, rain, snow...) and risks of sea water overflow that causes damage to cargo. That’s why sea carriers pay serious attention to the packing and stowage of cargo with the right specifications and technical standards to minimize the potential loss during transportation.

In this issue, we would like to recommend some notes for packaging and preparation of export cargoes including stowage in a container when the carriers select sea transportation.
